Seems like there are a lot of interesting wrecks! Do you have any more info on some of the wrecks and can you recommend a good charter operator in the area?

Hi

This is my web site :-) . Yes, we have on our coast many interesting wrecks and only two - three good wreck operators. We have three most popular area of wreck diving
1. Gdansk Bay - harbours - Hel,his lo Jastarnia, Gdynia. This is most popular area because wrecks are close and shallow. But only 3-4 Nm from Hela harbour you might dive on deep wrecks like 180m wreck of Franken (48 - 75m). On Gdansk Bay laying about 50 known wrecks (and I think second 50 unknown and undived). In this we have two uboats, tanker, minesweepers ect.
2. Wladyslawowo. This is harbour in the middle of road Gdynia - Hel but from open sea. From this harbour you might go to some close wrecks (Swedish Sten Sture, german tanker ect.) and far deep wreck like german minesweeper V315 or Finnish Agnes. This location is very interesting because deep wreck are mostly undived or weakly known. We have about 20 undived position form this. Most of them is deeper then 55 - 60 meters.
3. Leba. This is harbour on center polish coast. Some fine wrecks but far. From Leba you can go to one of the most desirable wreck (Wilhelm Gustloff) but only if you have special permission from Maritime Office from Gdynia.

Boat operators:
Most known and the best wrecks operator is Jurek Lissowski
www.hestia-morska.strefa.pl (http://www.hestia-morska.strefa.pl) he know all the wrecks and he is really good.

From Leba our friends http://nurkowanie.cekol.pl/

And.... so we have own boat for our plans but we can get with us sometimes others divers :-)

Uffff....

If anyone have any question please write me

Hi Sebastian,

i have for some years researched for wrecks in "your" Baltic region and must say you have lot's of nice stuff down there. I can see you mention Steen Sture as a target. I have also heard that the wreck of Bengt Sture has been located. Is this true ?

Hi Thomas

Yes, we identified wreck from Leba as a Bengt Sture (with invaluable help from Mats Karlsson).
Wreck laying about 12 Nm to North from Leba harbour 38m deep. Wreck was on good condition but after winter storms I heard that superstructure collapsed.

Sebastian,

i'll find the picture and post it to you when i come home tonight. What is the conditions and depths of the Steen Sture. Could be great fun to dive both wrecks some day.

This is impossible because wrecks are very far from each other.
Steen Sture is very easy to dive. About 6 Nm from Wladyslawowo 18-24 m deep. Laying on port side. Very damaged.

Thanks again. Great to hear that wrecks are located and diveable.

I did not mean to dive both wrecks in same day, but to dive both wrecks some day in the future :) .

I'll send the photo later.

Cheers
Thomas
