Considering a trip to dive SS Auguste Helmerich with mixed Tech1/2.
Is this feasible/worthwhile within Tech1 limits ?
How much of the wreck is in 50 m range ?
From the OD website :
SS Auguste Helmerich
Depth 43-60m
Length 63.5m
Width 9.1m
Displacement 875 ton
thanks

I can't answer for particular wreck but having in mind that Tech-1 range covers 18/45 as well, you can dive to 57 meters maintaining PPO2 level at 1.2 or less. Is it ok to dive to 57 m and to gain decent amount of bottom time and at the same time to have only one deco gas available, that's different question. IMO everything depends on your experiance and comfort level at these depths.

57m on one deco gas is definately not Tech1 for me. If for no other reason than Tech1 limits are about 48-50m (says so right on the card :)) and deeper you have alot riding on that one bottle of 50%. You would need to plan for even larger than standard backgas reserves as well.

guys, apparantly my question was not clear.
I am not asking about T1 limits. I do know that myself very well and I'm well capable to make my own judgement on this.
I was asking what part of the wreck is in 50m range.
thanks

If I remember correctly the deck level is around 52-53m deep and that is where the most interesting stuff is. You can see some pictures from a dive we did there here:

Picture 7 and onwards is from Auguste Helmerich. Pictures taken by Joakim Tenglin.
