I am putting a tec trip together to dive the Tottori Maru, we have a good deal setup with a liveaboard and have the whole boat, it has 100% o2 under the boat and will spend 5 days on board with 3 days diving, there will be two safety divers along for Gas emergencys etc and we have a package going with accomodation in bagnkok for 2 nights either side of the trip as well.
Anyone interested PM me for more details.

The wreck lies on her starboard side in 58m. The top of the wreck is at 40 m, length is 150m, tonnage is 5-7000 tons. She has had some damage starboard aft. More research is needed but we suspect from Hammerhead's logged co-ordinates that this could well be the Tottori Maru, a 'hellship' used as transport for Allied POW's.

Is it in the gulf or the other side sounds really cool we now have a new budget airline flying Australia to Phuket for half the normal price but doesn't start till dec.
What or who was it carrying when sank?

When I was living in Singapore, we dived another wreck off the southern coast of Malaysia (S. China Sea side) in 1997.

It was identified as the Totturi Maru. IIRC, the depth was only about 30m.

A few portholes were recovered, restored and currently displayed somewhere in Singapore by Mike Lim and Davy Koh.

We are looking at November for the trip, there are other various wrecks in the Gulf to choose from as well, I am still trying to find out if we could dive the USS Lagarto and 311 foot sub in 72m of water, being it went down with all on board its a permit only thing, also there are some other wrecks we could do in the same area. I will post some info on those later.
