For the summer season 2007 in the Baltic Sea. We are beginning to draw up plans for a large scale diving and survey project for next year and are probing the market for a suitable ship available for charter for 4 weeks.
If anyone in the Baltic region is aware of a suitable ship for charter or know of a marketplace for this please let me know. It should be capable of taking 10-20 divers.

Hi Ingemar,
sounds interesting. Would be great if you keep me/forum posted about this, and hopefully spaces will be offered for anyone interested provided relevant qualifications/prereq's are met.
I dont know if the ship i mention are to large, but i have previously discussed charters to remote North Sea wrecks (Jutland wrecks) with a dutch ship called Fogo Isle. I know that the ship is not based in the Baltic Region, but might be able to get up here.

Thanks for the tip Thomas, i will contact them. The intention is that this expedition will be available to all qualified divers. We hope to do 2-4 5 day excursions. Diving in the day and while the divers are sleeping looking for new wrecks.

Have'nt Henrik Svedin "Blackan" still in the Baltic? The latest I heard was that "Blackan" was in Sundsvall...

...and a long shot. If you look at www.djurgardsvarvet.com (http://www.djurgardsvarvet.com) there is a vessel named "Hisingen" for sale. It's the sister to "Blackan" and "Galten". I know that the owner had tryed to sell it for a long time now, so maybe he will rent it to you? Or maybe you what to buy a "mothership" to "Otto" :)

Sounds great Ingemar. Count me in. When you have more solid plans let me know more about what areas you want to survey. If plans are to go a bit south of Öland i'll be more than happy to add in positions if this have any interest.

Sounds great. Maybe we should meet during winter time and go through things.

Could be a plan. It´s still very early planning yet though. I have to find a suitable boat for a suitable price and then scan the interest from divers to see if it would be economically viable to do this. The biggest enemy is the unpredictable weather.
