Ocean Discovery´s survey project outside Öland on the SE coast of Sweden resulted in a few new wrecks last summer. One of them remain unidentified and we do not know that much about it. Could anyone help us date this ship and tell us more about the vessel type etc?.

From what we can understand the wreck seems to be from the 15th to 16th century judging by the construction method. We would greatly appreciate some help. I am posting some pictures below. If you need higher resolution pictures i can email them.

The shape of the dead-eye suggests a dating from the 16th century and onwards. Dead-eyes from medieval times usually are more triangular in shape. Another thing is the carvel built hull. The carvel technique was not common until the 16th century in North-european waters. It would in deed be interesting to see some more pictures if you have any!
