Hi !

My name is Leszek and I'm a diver from Poland.
At the end of April (29) me and my friend are going to Sweden for few days. I'll stay in Finspang and would like to do a few dives.
Are there any interesting places to dive in that area? I'm going to dive in a Gistad mine (I hope that it's still possible to dive there) but what else you can recommend?
Maybe we colud join some local divers? We can pay back by organizing some nice wreck diving in our part of Baltic Sea http://www.direxplorers.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Best Regards

Be aware that the diver-hating farmer has lowered the water level in Gistad maybe with as much as 1,5m, so it could be tricky to get out of the water...

Here's a picture someone took last fall. I don't know what it's like now, maybe the snowmelting has raised the water a bit?

Welcome to the Forum Leszek

There is always wreck diving just 1 hour by car from Finspång in Västervik. A dive charter is planned from the 29th - 1st of May. Some more info here http://www.ocean-discovery.org/excursions.htm

Gistad is an interesting dive. I didn´t know that the a#"%& farmer had lowered the water level.

That sounds great.
Could we join you for a one or two days?
What wrecks are you going to dive? what depths?

Is there any similar place to Gistad in that area? I know two places near Stckholm, but it's a litte bit to far from Finspang.

Best

Not really any diveable mines in the Västervik area, Gistad is not that far though.

Contact me at oceandiscovery@telia.com for detail on the charter.
