Anyone using the D200 that can recommend a housing? How is the D200 UW? Pretty amazing i am sure. What strobes are working with TTL?

Hi Ingemar
I know that Sea & Sea has its housing available, rated to 60 meters.
Further on, I know that Alex Dawson talked about that one, maybe he can give you more information.
Ikelite has their housing, rated to 60 meters. Its plastic as with all Ikelite housings. They do provide full i-TTL capability, used together with their latest DS flashes.
Also, SeaCam had released their housing, rated to 80 meters. I know that Leif G Hjelm, who is the swedish reseller, bought a D200 and waited for the housing in januari-februari. Maybe he has more information and some pictures.
About flashes. The only dealer that I do know support i-TTL is Ikelite and then it is the DS-125 and the upcoming DS-200. But it is not really clear to me if you then need the a conversion kit to be added into the housing for full i-TTL or if it works out of the box. :confused:
I have looked at other flashes as well, like Sea&Sea, Subtronic but haven't seen a reference for i-TTL so my guess is that those strobes just support standard d-TTL.
Cheers,
// Paul

Hi Ingemar,
I just spent a week on Malta wrecks with the D200 in an Aquatica housing. Must say I am very satiesfied with the housing (and camera!). Very easy to manouver under water even with thick gloves, all essential buttons is connected, rated to about 90 meters depth if I remember it right. The only possible drawback I can see with the housing is that they only have an acrylic dome, and no glass dome (if you prefer that, I donīt)
I was shooting with Inon z-220 strobes manually, and as far as I know there is no strobes on the market today that supports i-ttl, maybe except for Seacam, who says they have i-ttl compatibility, but I havenīt done much research on that, since I prefer the light weight Inon strobes. The other option is to install the Heinrichs Weikamps i-ttl converter (which Aquatica says they can do before delivery), see compatibility list for strobes here: http://heinrichsweikamp.net/blitz/indexe.htm or email him (I never encountered a manufacturer that answeres mail quicker)
Just email me if you want to see pictures of the housing, or sample pictures taken by camera and housing

Hi Maria
This is good news. I would like to see pictures of the housing as well as housing with the camera attached if possible.
Also good to know about Heinrich converter. Will take a closer look on that one.
Thanks for really good references and information.
Yours,
